Explanation, Please
Can someone out there explain why our leadership in Washington thinks - during a time of great tension in the Middle East, and particularly in affairs involving Iran and Iraq - that the best person to replace the disgraced Defense Secretary who a couple of administrations ago was helping Iraq buy arms is the disgraced former CIA chief who a couple of administrations ago was selling arms to Iran?

Anyone?

Bush Breaking The Law To Hide Climate Crisis Data
John McCain: "They're simply not complying with the law. It's incredible ... When you get to that degree of obfuscation, then you get a little depressed ..." McCain isn't alone in wanting the study. On Tuesday, a trio of environmental groups announced they are suing NOAA to release the document.

Broadening Horizons
As we move into the era of Repuglican decline, with Congressional oversight and hearings that will inevitably lead to impeachment proceedings against Bush and Cheney, Impeachable Treason is expanding its scope to address a problem in US Government that goes beyond the treason, high crimes and misdemeanors of the current Bush Misadministration.

Impeachment, per Article II, section 4, of the Constitution provides that "[t]he President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."

So, who besides Bush and Cheney can be impeached? Well per Wikipedia and others, the House has started impeachment proceedings 62 times since 1797, resulting in impeachment of 17 officials: 2 presidents, 1 cabinet officer, 1 Senator, 1 Supreme Court Justice, and 12 Federal Judges (including, embarrassingly, Alcee Hastings, now the Democratic representative from Florida's 23rd District).

So, let's open the doors wide open and start thinning the ranks of the corrupt. Impeachable Treason will be starting a list of Judges, Senators, Cabinet Secretaries and other "civil officers of the United States" whose actions against the public interest merit commencement of impeachment proceedings; feel free to send comments on those you feel should be added to the list.

George Mason once asked, "Shall any man be above Justice? Above all shall that man be above it, who can commit the most extensive injustice?" We here at Impeachable Treason believe the answer is a resounding NO.

Red or Blue, We Don't Care, Send 'em ALL To Jail!
"Convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff is scheduled to report to federal prison tomorrow, over the objections of federal prosecutors who say they still need his help to pursue leads on officials he allegedly bribed ... including what Abramoff has reportedly described as 'six to eight seriously corrupt Democratic senators.' The sources say Abramoff was about to provide information about Bush administration officials, including Karl Rove, 'accepting things of value' from Abramoff."

Another Bush Campaign Supporter Convicted of Corruption
And the list grows ...
"Tom Noe, the once high-flying Republican financier ... was found guilty today of stealing money from the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation and using the cash to erase debts and buy and furnish million-dollar homes. Noe was found guilty of 29 of the 40 charges, among them numerous theft and forgery counts. He was found guilty on his chief charge that he engaged in a pattern of corruption in his management of Ohio's $50 million rare-coin fund investment with the bureau ... U.S. District Judge David Katz sentenced Noe to 27 months in prison on Sept. 12 for violating federal campaign finance law. Noe illegally poured more than $45,000 into the re-election campaign of President Bush in 2003." (emphasis added)

Rumsfeld War Crimes To Go To Trial?
Ahhh, the sweet smell of poetic justice, tinged with a hint of irony:
"US Lawyers to Seek Criminal Charges Against Rumsfeld in Germany ... for his alleged role in sanctioning torture of prisoners in U.S. custody ... the case will ultimately look at the responsibility of high-ranking U.S. officials authorizing war crimes in the war on terror ... Germany's universal jurisdiction law allows the country's courts to hear cases originating from anywhere in the world ..."
