Bush Politicizes EPA Ozone Rules, Threatens US Public Health

One more way in which this heinous abuse of power we call our President has actively created and enforced polices that put American citizens at risk.

"... EPA officials initially tried to set a lower seasonal limit on ozone to protect wildlife, parks and farmland, as required under the law. While their proposal was less restrictive than what the EPA's scientific advisers had proposed, Bush overruled EPA officials and on Tuesday ordered the agency to increase the limit ... unprecedented and an unlawful act of political interference ... high ozone concentrations can cause 'adverse effects on agricultural crops, trees in managed and unmanaged forests, and vegetation species growing in natural settings' ... linked to an array of heart and respiratory illnesses ..."

Bush's Culture of Corruption Hits Philadelphia

"After Philadelphia's housing director refused a demand by President Bush's housing secretary to transfer a piece of city property to a business friend, two top political appointees at the department exchanged e-mails discussing the pain they could cause the Philadelphia director.

"Would you like me to make his life less happy? If so, how?" Orlando J. Cabrera, then-assistant secretary at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, wrote about Philadelphia housing director Carl R. Greene."
